Infection Control Specialist - Nebraska Medical Center

$5,000 Bonus Available

 The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska has an opening for a full-time Infection Control Specialist to work Monday � Friday 8:00a-4:30p.   Candidates will participate in implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the infection control program to reduce the risk of infections in patients, visitors, and personnel.  Qualifications for this position are RN license, bachelor's degree required.  Master's in appropriate area preferredA minimum of either four years current clinical or infection control experience.

Salary:  $3659.07 Monthly

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Epidemiology or a related field of study. Three years of related work experience, of which at least one year has been in a supervisory or administrative capacity. Valid driver's license and own mode of transportation required.
*Approved education beyond Bachelor's degree may be substituted for up to one year of work experience.

BASIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Knowledge of medical terminology, communicable diseases and epidemiology. Knowledge of drug interactions desirable. Ability to: Organize tasks, establish priorities and adhere to deadlines; supervise, coordinate, monitor and direct the work of others; communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, subordinates, co-workers and the general public; perform mathematical computations (i.e., multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, etc.); interpret various rules, regulations, and policies which affect Health Department practices; maintain confidentiality and handle situations in a sensitive manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Chief, Clinic Division or designee, direct, coordinate and supervise the activities of the Epidemiology Section, including Human Immunodeficiency Virus Surveillance Program and Travelers Clinic. Assist in the direction of assigned personnel and assures adherence to the policies, rules and procedures of local, state and federal agencies. Perform other related duties as assigned.
